What is bacterial vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis also known as BV is a common infection that occurs in a woman’s vagina. It’s not a sexually transmitted infection. The most common symptoms of bacterial vaginosis is abnormal off white discharge especially after sex with an unpleasant smell.

A healthy vagina contains many microorganisms and the primary type is called lactobacilli. Lactobacilli stops other vaginal microorganisms from multiplying to a level where they cause symptoms. Reduction of lactobacillus, which may be due to the use of antibiotics or pH imbalance, allows more resistant bacteria to gain a foothold, multiply and causes bacterial vaginosis. In simple words we can say ,healthy vagina normally has a balance of mostly “good” bacteria and fewer “harmful” bacteria. With BV, there is an increase in harmful bacteria and a decrease in good bacteria.

Bacterial Vaginosis itself isn’t a big problem. But if left untreated it may lead to serious complications like susceptibility to sexually transmitted infections and can be a reason for babies of lower birth weight or prematurely.

There are traditional antibiotics like metronidazole or clindamycin which can be taken either orally or vaginally to cure Bacterial Vaginosis. But mitronodazole and clindamycin have some side effects too. Also they are not permanent solution to bacterial vaginosis.According to Melbourne Sexual Health Centre 77% of all women treating Bacterial Vaginosis with Pharmaceutical Antibiotics suffer from reoccurrence within months. It is bcuz antibiotics also kill the beneficial vaginal bacteria which makes vagina defenseless when BV returns. You wouldn’t think that this is possible in these advance medical days but sadly it happens to be true.

It’s a good thing there is one natural cure that thousands of women using successfully to treat their Bacterial Vaginosis permanently.Take a look at “the BV Miracle“.Its a product which have all positive reviews from customers and even doctors have started recommending it instead of traditional antibiotics.
